Another Clever Way of Using Oil Drums to Create Biochar

Biochar In Oil Drum
How about using some of the old oil drums to make biochar. In this Westmorland Gazette article, the gardeners on banks of Lancaster Canal turn used oil drums into a biochar chamber by cutting a slit along the long side of the cylinder, cramming the body of the drum with wood stock material and burn them when sitting side way. By tipping and closing the airway, the oil drums turn into a pyrolysis chamber where biochar is produced. Very clever!
